Digital Paradise Inc. (Owner and operator of Netopia Internet Café) and the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX) have signed a memorandum of agreement for the Microsoft-Netopia IT Scholarship Program.

Signing the agreement are Anton Mauricio (FINEX, Liaison Director ICT Committee), Ronnie Alcantara (FINEX, President), Beth G. Lui (ePLDT President and concurrent President of Digital Paradise Inc.), Jito Grau (Digital Paradise Inc., COO) and Dondi Mapa (Microsoft Philippines, National Technology Officer).

The agreement forges the relationship of Netopia with FINEX in the promotion of IT education and computer learning as an affiliate in the distribution and endorsement of the Microsoft-Netopia IT Scholarship Program.

DPI (Netopia) has packaged an IT Scholarship program comprised of on-line courses on digital literacy, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Office 2007 made available by virtue of DPI’s agreement with Microsoft Corporation. The IT Scholarship program may be availed of at any of its Netopia internet café branch nationwide through the use of a 15 hour Prepaid Card printed for this purpose. A Certificate of Completion signed by Microsoft Philippines and DPI shall be printed and issued to the customer upon successful completion of the course.

FINEX members can purchase the Microsoft Netopia IT scholarship card for P500.00 and give to its employees or designated beneficiaries (like high school teachers and students), as part of their CSR activities, to improve their expertise and knowhow of IT and computer skills.
