Send off an IT Scholar for only 500 pesos ! Netopia Internet Café, through its Microsoft Angat ka! program, presents an Information Technology (IT) Scholarship Program- an on line eLearning program that includes courses on Digital Literacy, Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Office Word 2007, Microsoft Office Excel 2007, Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 and Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.

The eLearning program is available in all Netopia branches through the use of a 15-hour IT Scholarship Card. Upon completion of the program a Certificate signed by Microsoft Philippines and Netopia will be awarded to the scholars.

PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF) joined the venture as Netopia aims to improve the IT Literacy in our country especially to the youth. PSF and Netopia have chosen Caritas Manila as the beneficiary of this scholarship. Thus, another 200 scholars will be given the opportunity to take the eLearning Program and improve their IT literacy and competency.

Caritas Manila is the lead Catholic agency for social services and development in the Archdiocese of Manila. Its programs and services are directed towards the total human development of marginalized people and the promotion of social justice in the light of the Church’s Catholic Social Teaching.

PSF is a non-stock, non-profit organization under Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) and Smart Communications. In its pursuit for social, political, and economic development, it provides helpful communications tools and various avenues for progress and empowerment through partnerships and tie-ups with non-government organizations, people's organizations and cooperatives throughout the Philippines. This foundation aims of fulfilling the needs and uplifting the quality of life of each and every Filipino.

Digital Paradise, Inc. (Owner and operator of Netopia Internet Café), an ePLDT company, is the largest Internet café chain in the Philippines operating at 112 branches all over the Philippines. Netopia has become a haven for those who need to get the most out of surfing the net and eLearning, playing online games, printing photos and documents and even eload of any kind.

Our deepest gratitude to PLDT-Smart Foundation in sending another 200 IT scholars to the Microsoft Angat Ka! eLearning Program.
