Next to being the texting capital of the world, the Philippines this time is touted to have the largest number of Friendster subscribers in the globe totaling to 12Million out of the 50 Million Friendster subscribers. Friendster's over 36M unique visitors per month is attributed to a huge chunk of active Filipino subscribers.

Because of the overwhelming success of this top social network in the country, Friendster’s officials thought of returning the favor especially to those with the most number of friends on their accounts by staging an eyeball party.  To make this materialize, Friendster partnered with Netopia, the largest Internet café chain in the Philippines.

More than meets the eye, an exclusive party dubbed “Friendster Padlock Party” was held at Netopia SM Mall of Asia (MOA) on May 12, 2009 with top Friendster and Netopia executives to meeting face to face with their patrons. Every guest received either a padlock or a key. Everyone is asked to move around to find the match to his padlock or key. Over 300 Friendster users graced the occasion.
